| The Marketing Manager of Compact Equipment | |
| Role (Purpose of the job) | |
| Responsible for the overall development of the compact equipment (compact excavator, compact wheel loader, skid steer loader, backhoe loader, telescopic handler) marketing strategic vision, tactical strategies and operational objectives for the China region and works in close contact with other Chinan VCE sales organizations and dealer network. To thoroughly understand the compact equipment markets in China. To realistically define Volvo’s wanted market position & target markets. To develop strategies to fully exploit the market potential. To establish and implement marketing programs to support the strategies. | |

| · | Define the market and constantly update database in terms of the following: |

| · | Understand the competitors’ activities, distribution, promotional campaign and pricing. Constantly update database. |
| · | Understand rules of engagement in each market e.g. import duties, import restriction, trade agreements, etc. |
| Position and Target Market Definition | |
| · | Understand the strength and weaknesses of Volvo ‘s value proposition |
| · | Realistically define Volvo’s current position |
| · | Define the profitable target markets |
| · | Assess the strength of current distribution and other potential market players |
| Strategy Development | |
| · | Develop a clear definition of the desired product mix for each market |
| · | Establish a price book that defines the pricing strategy for each market |
| · | Assess the need and nature of market communication activities |
| · | Develop a model of the preferred distribution for each market |
| · | Identify any other strategies that might achieve profitable growth |
| Marketing Programs | |
| · | Identify and implement various marketing programs which may include: |

| · | Minimum ten years in the construction equipment or related technical industry. |
| · | Commitment and experience in developing best practice in customer focused, process- based organizations. |
| · | Change management, both organizational and cultural. |
| · | Tertiary education with engineering experience.· |
| · | Fluency in English, both written and verbal |
| · | Chinese (Mandarin) will be a plus. |
| · | Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, matrix environment. |
| · | Ability to operate in a multi-cultural environment. |
| · | Extensive travel required |
